Keep Your Schedule In One Place
Keeping tabs on a Google calendar, wall calendar, emails and the endless to-do list streaming through your mind can all be so overwhelming! Try to consolidate everything into one go-to calendar that you find easiest to check every day.
Make Space To Do Both
We love places that facilitate both work and play, like the new wave of female co-working spaces (eg. The Wing) that gather women together to work, connect, and thrive through the community. There’s nothing quite as inspiring as conducting afternoon meetings surrounded by strong, entrepreneurial women—and then catching up during cocktail hour!
Stop Checking Your Email
When your personal email account becomes a work email account, temptation always lingers to check your inbox at all hours. Remind yourself that no one expects you to reply at 8 am on a Sunday morning, so don’t do it! Give yourself at least one day a week to simply not open any emails.
Make Time For Zen And For You
Traditional meditation works for many people, but not for everyone. Go within and find the thing that makes you release and relax! Give yourself time to zone out for an hour or so every other day, or better yet, every day. This could be a yoga class, listening to a podcast (our favorite right now is On Being with Krista Tippett), or even the much-underrated cat nap.
Expand Your Mind
Add something a little left-field to your schedule—anything from rock-climbing to antiquing. We love to go to talks, conferences, or festivals from disciplines totally different than our own. It’s always great to learn new things, freshen up your routine, and gain a new perspective.
